Open welcome for record visitors

VISITOR numbers were up at the recent Colzium Museum Doors Open Day event.

Kilsyth Community Council opened the venue to the public for the event which attracted 113 visitors – an increase on last year.

The numbers, however, did not equal the 206 and 156 of earlier years.

Margot Macmillan, of Kilsyth Community Council, said: “It was good to see that the event had attracted a considerable number of visitors from outwith the immediate district.

“The next opening is likely to be during the Snowdrop Festival of 2013 and we expect that many more artefacts, presently in storage, will be on display then.

“We would like to thank Alex Graham for providing delicious hot soup and snacks for the visitors and Alan Stevenson for arranging pleasant background music in the Banqueting Hall, both of which added so much to the event.”
