As the main source of hard-hitting news and views in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth, it’s our job to sink our teeth into the big stories and break them down into bite-sized chunks.

That’s why this week, British Sandwich Week, we’ve been asking our readers: “If Cumbernauld or Kilsyth was a sandwich, what would the filling be?”

Yes, that’s right, forget about the independence referendum or minimum price alcohol, we’ve been tackling the bread and butter issues that matter to you – and boy, do they matter!

Our Facebook and Twitter accounts were the platform for debate among our interactive readers this week, who got stuck in with some tasty answers to our question.
