There's no business like Shoe Biz...

TALKING cobblers has led to two local schools working together to raise cash for children in need.

Cumbernauld and St Andrew's Primary Schools have decided to work together to take part in the Blue Peter Shoe Biz Appeal, which involves collecting shoes to raise cash for children in Malawai.

The Eco-committee project has already seen the children visit local cobbler Duncan Taylor, who works at Timpsons Services, to collect unwanted shoes, and they have also organised a Wear Your Slippers Day. The children at the joint campus wore their slippers to school and paid 1 each for the privilege.

Pictured are representatives from each school, 11-year-old Dylan Reid (left) who is in primary seven at Cumbernauld Primary, and 11-year-old David Semple who is in primary seven at St Andrew's, along with Duncan Taylor, the branch manager at Timpson's.
