A THIEF made off with a three figure sum of cash after robbing an Abronhill garage at ‘gunpoint’ at the weekend.

The man entered the Express Service Station on Forest Road at around 5.20am on Sunday, January 20, and threatened a 35-year-old male member of staff with what appeared to be a firearm.

He demanded cash before running out of the shop, which is known locally as McCashins garage, with cash and some cigarettes.

For full story, see this week’s Cumbernauld News or Kilsyth Chronicle dated Wednesday, January 23.
