Cumbernauld police seek garden intruders

Officers want witnesses after three males made an unwelcome intrusion to local gardens in the middle of the night.

The trio landed in Ashlar Avenue in Carrickstone at 2.45pm on Tuesday, June 3 and were spied by neighbours who dialled 999.

The males who are believed to be in their 20s, did not gain access to any homes.

However police believe they had targeted the luxury homes with the intention to steal.

They were dressed in light coloured clothes and hoodies.

Safer Communities Officer Natalie Reid said: “We are appealing for witnesses but are also ensuring that the public are securing their homes especially within the warmer weather and lighter nights.’’
