An application and funding advice event will be held in Twechar for community and youth groups who want to claim Climate Challenge Fund cash.

Independent charity Keep Scotland Beautiful, which manages the CCF on behalf of the Scottish Government will be at the event from 2pm to 5pm.

There will also be a dedicated Junior Climate Challenge Fund workshop for young people from 5.30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 25, at Twechar Healthy Living and Enterprise Centre.

A presentation from Keep Scotland Beautiful will introduce the fund and the support that they provide to applicants.

There will also be a presentation from Twechar Community Action which has been awarded CCF grants totalling £311,611 to run projects involving energy efficiency, community growing - and most recently water conservation - that work with the local community to reduce carbon emissions and save money.

Applications for funding are invited to present to the CCF Grants Panel in 2014 with the next draft application deadline on January 6.
