More parking at Monklands

More parking could be available at Monklands Hospital, if plans are given the green light.

NHS Lanarkshire is looking to create additional permanent car parking at Monklands Hospital.

Colin Lauder, NHS Lanarkshire’s head of planning and development, said: “We have applied for planning permission to turn the current temporary car park, next to the David Matthews Centre, into a larger, permanent parking area.

“If the plans are approved work would take place over the summer and the car park should be completed in October.”

During the building work, the former health Airdrie Health Centre site will be used as a temporary car park to reduce the impact on the site.

Full access to the David Matthews Centre will be maintained throughout the works.

The health board apologise in advance for any inconvenience the work - if approved - may cause.
