CARE workers who look after disabled people are being hammered by cuts while their employers create high-paid new posts for deskbound professionals.
That’s the claim from a local member of staff who works for Enable – who has spoken out after being sent a newsletter which featured a run-down of new appointees, such as a design co-ordinator, to deal chiefly with the administrative side of the charity’s affairs.
The care worker has claimed that the new appointees have cost Enable more than £200,000 per annum.
But the charity has hit back, saying that the claims have not been made in full view of the facts, and that in fact a pay increase could be in the offing for some lower-paid staff.
