Firefighters were called to an incident in Croy on Friday, October 25.

There had been reports that a fire was blazing at the end of Cuilmuir View which nears the railway line at Croy Station.

The crew from Kilsyth arrived at the scene to discover that the fire in question was in fact the centrepiece of an organised bonfire party. Firefighters were satisfied that the fire posed no risk and returned to base.

A spokesman said: “This was a false alarm with no malicious intent.’’

Firefighters attended another incident at a Kilsyth landmark on Tuesday,
November 4.

The crew rushed to Burngreen amidst reports of a blaze. A bin near the pavilion was alight but was quickly extinguished.
