Palacerigg Country Park fell prey to a theft after a piece of agricultural equipment was taken from one of the park’s sheds.

The public is asked to keep a lookout for a trailer worth £1000 that has disappeared from the rural amenity.

It was reported missing over the September Weekend but may have been stolen from Friday, September 9 onwards.

The trailer bears the Polaris brand and is intended for carrying the rare breeds that live in the park.

It has two wheels and has black plastic mud guards.

The trailer has been adapted with mesh to heighten its sides, so that a number of different animals at athe park could be conveyed in it.

Anyone who has seen the trailer is asked to contact police on 101.
