Preparations well under way for Banton Flower Show

THE POPULAR Banton Flower Show is ready to bloom

It’s scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 10, and the committee is hoping for its usual good turnout of exhibits ranging from flowers to veg, to home baking. The last few years have also seen a very good junior section.

Once again this year the scarecrow contest will be running. Committee members hope for a good entry as they brighten up the whole village and help build a good atmosphere on the day.

Please note, the show is open to exhibitors from all over and not only villages. It costs nothing to enter and there are good prizes to win.

The show opens at 2pm, with the opening ceremony at 2.30pm. All exhibits to be in place by 10am on the morning of the show.

Programmes are available from the village shop, the Swan Inn, Banton Bowling Club or from Robert Gracie on 07512 676286 or Mr David Donaldson 07920 874871.

A show spokesman said: “Don’t be shy – it could be your year for one of the many sought-after trophies.

“It has been a hard growing year this summer, so the competition is wide open!”
