PUPILS at St Margaret of Scotland Primary School were dressed to the nines for the school’s inaugural Oscar ceremony.

Primary 6/7A, parents, guests and staff were greeted with a red carpet and the class’s own star-studded Walk of Fame for the event, organised by class teacher Mrs Johnstone.

The evening was a celebration of the children’s movie-making skills – they worked together to write, direct, film and edit their movies.

The children introduced the evening and enjoyed the fantastic response from the audience when their movies were screened. Afterwards the youngsters announced the winners of the best categories remembering to include the mandatory pause to heighten the suspense. In true Oscar fashion the children delivered their own acceptance speeches.

During the break pupils, guests and staff voted for the best movie, the winners being The Movie Stars with their film “Super Buddy”.
