Singing for their supper

TALENTED pupils at an Abronhill school could be the songwriters of the future after their song was selected to launch a global hunger campaign.

Whitelees Primary’s School of Rock performed If You, If We, If Everyone at the launch of ‘Enough Food for Everyone IF’ campaign in Glasgow recently.

The campaign, involving more than 100 organisations across the UK, is the largest mass mobilisation since Make Poverty History.

The campaign calls on Prime Minister David Cameron to use the UK’s G8 presidency in 2013 to take action on the root causes of the hunger crisis in the poorest countries.

The pupils at Whitelees Primary wrote the track in writing lessons with class teacher Tom Benham and were chosen from schools across the country to perform it.
