A make-up artist from Bearsden has impressing judges at the Craftex competition in Glasgow and won an award for her work.

Alice Hood, a former Bearsden Academy student, won the Makeup Artistry – non-advanced category at the event which attracts hundreds of talented students from across Glasgow.

The 21-year-old is studying HND Beauty Therapy at City of Glasgow College.

She said: “My college lecturer encouraged me to enter the competition but it came as a huge shock when I found out that I’d won.

“There are so many people involved in Craftex so it feels amazing to know that the judges thought I was a worthy winner. This whole experience has been a great confidence booster.”
