Summer’s here and there’s so much for kids to do in the holidays, and finding out what’s on offer has never been easier.

This year, parents and children just need to visit www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/breakout to choose from a great range of summer fun.

North Lanarkshire Council’s biggest and best Breakout programme features hundreds of events and activities to suit all interests and ages.

Just some of the activities available include:

Free swims throughout the summer in North Lanarkshire’s pools; summer soccer, rugby, basketball and tennis camps; playdays; theatre and rock schools; canoeing and kayaking courses; photo- media workshops at Summerlee Museum’s photo-media studios; summer dance camps; tri-golf sessions; art week at Summerlee; rock climbing lessons ; pedal and paddle at Strathclyde Park

Jim Logue, convener for learning and leisure services, is enthusiastic about this year’s offering. He said: “Now that we’ve put Breakout online, you can really see the number and range of activities that we offer over the summer.

“You can now search by date or type of programme to find exactly the right activity for your child. And there’s a list of all the free events to help you have a great summer on a budget.”

If you who don’t have internet access, you can easily find out about the Breakout programme by calling 01698 403120.
