Supermarket heading to Westway retail park?

MSP Jamie Hepburn has given a cautious welcome to the news that a supermarket could come to Westway retail park.

The politician says further details of the proposals will be made available in the coming weeks and a public consultation is expected to take place on the plans.

There has, however, been no confirmation on the supermarket who are interested in the site, and no formal planning application has been submitted to North Lanarkshire Council.

Mr Hepburn said: “This information, along with news of the application for a Morrisons supermarket at Broadwood and the recent acquisition of Cumbernauld Town Centre, confirms that the business community recognises that Cumbernauld and Kilsyth are good places to invest in.”
