Trading Standards officers have issued a fresh warning about conmen who have been selling faulty televisions as new in local retail parks.
The same individuals have been linked to the sale of mattresses, usually loaded into white vans and sold, again in retail parks or even housing estates.
It’s stressed that the men involved hail from the North East of England and have been moving all across Scotland with these goods.
The bedding often feature fake labelling and does not comply with British safety standards.
Councillor Michael McPake who oversees trading standards at council-level said: “We would advise people not to buy these.
“If it sound too good to be true it probably is.”
