Shouting out for great service

Sir, – On the morning of September 11, I was going for a bus for Glasgow when I noticed on the footpath of Stoneylee/Craigieburn Road, that someone had spilled a can of white paint. I returned home and phoned Northline (Environmental Services) to report the spillage.

Search is on for diamond geezers

Sir – Royal Voluntary Service’s Diamond Champions campaign, sponsored by McCarthy & Stone and supported by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall in her capacity as President of the charity, aims to recognise the many older volunteers in Scotland who do amazing, but often under-recognised, work helping others in the community.

A change for the better is needed

Sir, – It makes me so angry to keep reading articles about the Kilsyth Community Council and why they keep rejecting plans for new shops in the area. I feel their views are old fashioned they have no idea what it is like for people like me looking for work. I feel they are preventing people from having new opportunities and choice. These new shops can bring so much to the town, new jobs, more opportunities and more choice.

The Volvo XC90 R-Design is big and bold, but surprisingly easy to drive.

Attractor, not a tractor

THE Volvo XC90 is a contrast of a car – a large, muscular beast which is also, somehow, as quiet as a mouse. It is spacious and comfortable, but also stylish enough to attract plenty of admiring glances. This was easily the biggest vehicle I had ever driven – apart from a van I once hired to help my brother move house – and the size takes some getting used to for the uninitiated.
