LAST Friday, November 30, marked exactly 600 days until the Opening Ceremony of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

To mark the milestone, which fell appropriately on St. Andrew’s Day, pupils from St. Andrew’s Primary School in Cumbernauld celebrated the countdown to the games by donning the Official Glasgow 2014 Tartan for an extra-special plaid-time!

Marking the event are pupils (pictured left to right) Lucas Jones (11), Shannen Lofnes (9) and Jack Haughton (8).

Eileen Mulrooney, Headteacher at St Andrew’s Primary School in Cumbernauld, said: “Following on the successes of the London 2012 Olympics, sport is continuing to inspire the youngsters here and everyone is getting more and more enthusiastic about the prospect of the best athletes in the Commonwealth coming to compete in Scotland.”
