KILSYTH Golden Gloves bantamweight Adam Ghaffar produced a fantastic display at Kilmarnock on Saturday night to clinch a hard fought victory over Northwest’s Kyle Sayers.
In a fast-paced encounter the fight swung one way and then the next, but showing superb fitness and skill young Ghaffar emerged a clear winner as the final bell rung.
This brings the boxing season to a close for Golden Gloves for a couple of months. However, the Tuesday keep fit class and the Thursday women’s sessions will still run through the close season.
Saturday was a busy day for the club as the gym was open to the public as part of the Civic Week celebrations and there were displays of sparring for the eager spectators.
