Queen’s Park 1 Clyde 3

Clyde held on to their third position in the Scottish League Two with a win over bottom side Queen’s Park.

The Bully Wee took control of the game from early on and had hit the net three times before the interval.

Brian McQueen was first on the scoresheet when he fired home a Neil Janczyk corner to put the visitors ahead.

A few minutes later Stef McCluskey put the Broadwood outfit two up.

He did come close but was denied chalking up a third score for Clyde when Queen’s keeper Blair Lochhead pulled off a brilliant save.

However, just after the half-hour mark a good team effort resulted in the visitors’ third. McCluskey linked up with Scott Ferguson to send a clever ball to Michael Daly who fired the ball home.

After the interval, Queen’s Park began to come back into the game and Eamonn Brophy pulled a goal back before Blair Spittal missed a glorious chance moments later.

A decent spell of pressure from the home side followed and Bernard Coll hit the post with a header, but Clyde held on for a vital three points.
