Cumbernauld Colts will face a colt side of a different kind in the opening round of the Irn-Bru Cup.

The cup competition has undergone a radical overhaul in the close season with colt sides from the Premiership invited to compete along with sides from the Highland and Lowland Leagues Northern Ireland and Wales.

The draw, made on Thursday has paired Cumbernauld with the under-20s side of Hamilton Accies in the south section.

The remaining League Two sides will be joined by eight League One sides with the first round winners in the second round, with two Welsh and Northern Irish sides set to enter the competition in the fourth round.
