West of Scotland Cup, first round

Rangers’ last three matches have all finished with a 5-0 scoreline with all the goals being scored in the second half.

The first two were defeats, but this time it was their turn to come out on top.

The opposition in this game was undeniably rather weak, but nevertheless it restores confidence in the team ahead of this Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie.

The game was in some doubt right up till the kick-off as a consequence of the heavy overnight rain, but the referee declared the pitch OK, and it rapidly improved during the game.
