United fix up friendlies

Cumbernauld United are gearing up for the start of the new season with a programme of friendlies.

They have arranged four games for the coming weeks .

They kick off the programme on Saturday, July 20 with a game against Kirriemuir Thistle at St. Pat’s Sportsfield, Kilsyth.

A week later, on Saturday, July 27, they take to the pitch at Guy’s Meadow to face Kinnoul. On Monday, July they are away to Petershill, and on Saturday, August 3, the team are back on home soil to take on amateur side Glasgow Harp.

These games will provide the local juniors with stern opposition.

Kirriemuir were winners of the East Region North Division, while Kinnoull were league winners in the East Region Central .

Petershill, of course, are in the West of Scotland Super Premier League.

United get their Euroscot Eng Sectional League Cup campaign under way on Wednesday, August 7 against Rossvale before facing Dunipace on Saturday, August 10 and then away to Kirkintilloch Rob Roy on Monday, August 12.

They are back on home turf for the local derby in this competition against Kilsyth Rangers on Wednesday, August 14.

The Stagecoach West of Scotland Super League First Division gets under way on Saturday, August 17 with a home fixture against Shotts Bon Accord.
