A COMMUNITY football club marked its arrival at Broadwood Stadium by hosting an official opening on Monday.
Cumbernauld Colts FC welcomed a whole host of guests including SFA chief executive Stewart Regan and justice minister MSP Kenny MacAskill to the opening.
The club decided to settle its roots at the stadium after they were awarded cash of around £380,000 from the CashBack for Communities Fund.
Further funding from North Lanarkshire Council of £70,000 helped the club install state-of-the-art FIFA 3G pitch.
A spokesperson for the club said: “The move has given us a home. We were in locations all over the area and now we have an identity at Broadwood.
“The move has also knocked the life back into Broadwood as we understand that footfall has increased especially in the gym facilities.”
