Kilsyth Lennox’s Winter League hit by typical Scottish weather

WEEK two of Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club’s Winter League was played in typical Scottish weather at the weekend, dry and sunny one day and heavy rain the next,

Club manager, Harry Hagen, took advantage of the benign weather on Saturday to post a best of the weekend 39 points, on a countback from the in-form Chris Turley, In the bar later, Harry (the best putter in Kilsyth!) explained the key to his round was the par threes where he fairly racked up the points, sinking his fair share of putts.

With dismal weather on Sunday, nobody was able to get near this total, but credit must be given to the five hardy souls who managed to play a full round.

Leading divisional scores for Saturday, October 27 were: Group 1 – Harry Hagen 39, John Love 37. Group 2 – Chris Turley 39, David Coyle 35. Group 3 – Matt Eastwood 36, Scott Cook 30. Group 4 – Johnny Davis 38, Toby McColl 37.
