HISTORY buffs are invited to Eastwood park theatre this weekend as the National Library of Scotland roadshow arrives.

The annual event comes to East Renfrewshire on Sunday, bringing a programme of events which explore local heritage through the wealth of resources the NLS has available.

Events include a talk on mapping — from the 16th century to present day — as well as information on discovering family history.

The Scottish Screen Archive will also be in attendance, showcasing treasures from the country’s celluloid history, and East Ren council’s heritage project team will be on hand to discuss their work in the community.

In addition to main events at Eastwood park, drop-in events have also been planned for Carmichael Hall and the education suite.

Tickets are not needed for the drop-in activities, running throughout the day, but advanced booking for talks in the main theatre is advised.
