Medals
for gymnasts

A PAIR of girls from Jump Gymnastic Club picked up a nice collection of medals at a recent competition.

Amy McPhee (11) from Condorrat won a bronze and fifth place in the 10-11 beginners section of the Saltire Gymnastics Competition at Meadowmill Sports Centre while Hannah Johnston (10) from Kildrum won bronze and two golds, making her the overall winner of the same section.

Coach Debbie McPhee, who is Amy’s aunt, said: “I am very proud of the girls who both worked very hard in preparation for this competition. They have competed in some smaller events already, but this is the next step on the road to the Scottish Gymnastics Championships, which will be held in the Bell Sports Centre in Perth during 2013.”

Jump Gymnastics Club meets six days a week at various venues and new members are welcome. For full details on where the club meets and how to join, find the Jump Gymnastics Club group on Facebook.
