Cumbernauld 18 Clydebank 15

Barely 30 seconds after the referee whistled for the start of the game, Cumbernauld conceded a penalty for a ruck infringement.

This was to be a recurring feature of this hard-fought victory on Saturday at Auchenkilns for the RBS West 2 League encounter against Clydebank.

In addition Cumbernauld had to counter two giant second row Clydebank players which meant that the home team had to survive on a limited supply of ball for most of the match. However, it says much of Cumbernauld’s commitment and never-say-die attitude that they took the game to Clydebank at every opportunity and recorded a very valuable home win against their mid-table rivals.
