THIS weekend saw the ladies welcome Stirling ladies to the Stadium in the latest Inter Club League match.

Having been beaten only a few weeks ago by Stirling the ladies were determined not to suffer the same fate again and this was shown by their attacking play right from the start. They went into the lead straight away and were never caught running out overall winners by 75 points to 63 points. A very good result.

Cumbernauld skips – J. Miller lost 16-19; M. Wightman won 18-14; L. Fleming won 29-11; R. McIntyre lost 12-19.

The gents’ latest league match was at the Stadium against Allander. Cumbernauld were on form and were too strong for their opposition winning all the matches and running out overall winner by the excellent margin of 109 points to 63 points.

Cumbernauld skips – A. Barrie won 22-15; K. Brooks won 27-24; G. Wilson won 37-9; J. Byron won 23-15.

The senior gents were playing away at Paisley against the local team. It was an extremely tight match throughout with both clubs winning two of the four games. Unfortunately Paisley had the better overall points at the end and ran out winners by 68 points to 54 points.

Cumbernauld skips – J. McConnachie lost 12-18; J. B. Wilson won 14-13; T. Turnbull won 16-15; T. Anderson lost 12-22.

Its a busy time for the local bowlers with several national competitions being contested along with district and our own internal competitions well underway. We wish them all good luck in their respective games.
