Gymnasts from all over converged in the Broadwood Gymnastics Academy for the 18th annual Broadwood Booster Gymnastics event.
There were almost 200 females of all ages and abilities to compete on all apparatus.
In level 6, for nine year olds, Amy Levett from the local club won the all around four pieces of apparatus by two and a half points ahead of her rivals.
Team-mate Niamh O’Rourke missed out on a bronze medal by a mere fraction of a point.
Millie Bell competed well for a personal best.
Still on level 6, in the 10/11 years age category, Isabella Knox won bronze with team mates Laura McDougal, Nina D’Ambrosia and Estelle MacAloney well up in the top ten.
In the 12 years plus section Hannah Walker collected the silver medal for her efforts, but the club’s team for all age group won the gold and team trophy.
The next round was for level 5 and again the local club’s gymnasts showed some good form. In the 10/11 years Rachel Thomson took gold. In the 12/13 years Mia Paterson collected silver and team mate Kara McDougal finished a very creditable fifth.
In level 3, 11/12 years, Mia Docherty finished a very creditable fourth. All the gymnasts from the Cumbernauld Gymnastics Club showed their abilities at a very high level on the vault, bars, beam and floor and received well deserved rewards.
