ONE local man had an extra stroke of luck at Dullatur Golf Club, after sinking a hole-in-one.
The hole-in-one is an achievement in itself for any golfer. However that was not the only lucky part of, club member, Phil Rooney’s outstanding drive, after it landed him with a holiday worth £1500.
General manager of Dullatur Golf Club, John Bryceland could not hide his surprise as he told the News of the event.
“It happened at our captain and vice captain’s day, which we have every year. We had various prizes on offer, including a car at one of the holes. Nobody managed to win the car but in a way it was even more staggering that the holiday was won.”
He explained: “The holiday was on offer at the 12th hold which, to be honest would be much harder to get a hole in one at than the hole with the car as the prize.
“We have had hole-in-ones before, but they are incredibly rare.”
