Tough course conditions at Kilsyth Lennox

The weekend of November 23-24 saw the first bite of Winter weather as the playing conditions at Kilsyth Lennox Golf Club over the two day period were made difficult due to the sudden dip in temperature.

However, a remarkable total of 70 cards were returned for the weekend’s play and it was not surprising only a handful of players had handicaps cut in the frosty setting.

First up, doing well was Robert Blackwood Jnr when he returned a remarkable score of 41 Stableford Points in difficult playing conditions.

Good scoring also came from Tom Armour and Eric O’Neil with 39, Tom Davidson had his best score on 38, and Hugh Nelson grabbed the best scratch with a super 37.

Group leaders after six rounds: roup One – Eric O’Neil 226; Group Two – Ian Marshall 216; Group Three – John Love 219; Group Four – Robert Blackwood 221.

A reminder to members: There has been a good response to this year’s Christmas party which is
being held on Saturday, December 14. There are a few places still available. To see Santa, book a place for your child or grandchild visiting the club and register for the party.
