WEE'S FIRST POINT OF THE YEAR
CLYDE grabbed their first point since the start of December on Saturday as only a 95th minute equaliser denied them all three points against league leaders Alloa.
With only four of the team who beat Arbroath on December 5 starting at Recreation Park there has been a massive turnover in the Bully Wee squad.
Defender Neil McGowan, who arrived at Broadwood from Ayr United in January, hopes the club will now reap the benefits.
He said: "When I first arrived I was calling everyone 'big man' and 'wee man' because I simply didn't know anyone and a lot of the other guys were the same.
"However, over the last few weeks we have slowly got to know each other and are starting to feel like a team.
"I've never known such a turnover of players in January before, maybe at the end of the season, but not during it. However, I daresay given the league position we are in that it must have been needed and now that we are playing with a team hopefully we can kick on from performance against the league leaders.
"To be honest we really thought we should have won it, especially being 2-1 up and then getting a penalty which would probably have sealed it.
"Alloa put us under pressure in the last ten minutes but there is no excuse for us not being able to hold out although you'll probably only see a better goal than their second at the World Cup."
McGowan found himself in an unfamiliar central defensive role as new loan signing from Patrick Thistle Pat Boyle took over at left back.
Clyde were hoping that their form continued when they travelled to Leven last night (Tuesday) to face East Fife who sit two places and ten points above the Bully Wee in the league.
This Saturday Clyde are back at Broadwood where they play host to second-top Cowdenbeath.
