Craig Hill returns to Cumbernauld Theatre next month as part of his ‘Tartan About’ tour.
The shaven-headed ex-hairdresser, as famous for his trademark kilts as his flamboyant persona, talked to the News and Chronicle about touring and what it takes to cut it in comedy.
Craig draws heavily on real events when devising material for each tour, and considering highlights of 2013 included a gig for the Norwegian Navy, singing Whitney Houston numbers onstage at the Sydney Opera House and having an audience member named Willie Hunter, he won’t be short of inspiration.
He enjoys maintaining a blog on his website, mrcraighill.com, where he shares his thoughts on each gig and the characters he meets in the audience (anonymity is maintained to protect the guilty), and it clearly works as Craig can vividly remember each show.
