SZA takes to the stage at Glasgow OVO Hydro soon - here’s everything you need to know

SZA will take to the stage at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro this week as part of her 2023 S.O.S tour. The grammy-award winning R&B artist will no longer be joined by special guest RAYE due to the London-born singer being on a ‘strict vocal rest’.

SZA quickly rose to fame off the back of her debut album CTRL in 2017, which garnered her five Grammy nominations including Best New Artist. The St. Louis born singer and Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) signee has propelled herself back into the spotlight this year with her critically acclaimed sophomore LP, ‘S.O.S’.

Originally, It was confirmed that SZA would be supported by English singer-songwriter RAYE. However, the London-born singer has had to pull out of the Glasgow OVO Hydro show due to illness.

She said: “I am going to have to pull out of Glasgow opening for SZA. I have been on an intense course of steroids and medicines since Parklife and nothing is working right now. I have been on four tours, non-stop since January, with 133 shows scheduled this year alone.

“I’ve pushed myself a little too hard. I would never cancel shows unless I had no choice and this is the case. I am pretty devastated, I’m on strict vocal rest and just going to try and get better as soon as I can so I can resume all my commitments. I am so deeply, deeply sorry.”

Glasgow OVO Hydro is yet to announce if there will be a replacement support act or not.
