Arts events for all

IF you’d like to find a new way to express yourself, why not attend one of these community arts projects?

North Lanarkshire Council has recently released its Arts in Action brochure for April-July 2011, which includes the following local events: • A photo badges workshop in Burngreen Community Centre, Kilsyth, on Tuesday, July 5. Organised by Play Services, this is part of the Play Services Summer Fun Day which will include games, mobile playground and storytelling. Participants will get the chance to have a unique badge made based on a photograph. No booking necessary, cost £1.50 per badge.

• Guitar classes for children aged 8-16. These are held in Greenfaulds Community Centre on Thursday evenings, and bookings are currently being taken for the five weeks from May 26. Cost is £20 prepaid for all five weeks.

• North Lanarkshire Children’s Theatre is organising drama classes for children at St Patrick’s Primary School, Kilsyth on Tuesday evenings. There are sections for 5-8 years and 9-15 years. The classes from May 23-June 20 cost £20.

• The Wizard in a Week summer drama school for ages 5-15 takes place at St Patrick’s Primary School, Kilsyth, from July 11-15. Advance booking is essential and costs £35.
