Auditions are scheduled to take place in front of the judges and a live audience at the Westerwood Hotel on Sunday, March 20 with an entry fee of just £5. This will go towards the Scottish Spina Bifida Association, which has its headquarters in Cumbernauld. Claire McNeill of the SSBA said: “It’s great to be involved in such a fabulous community event which is aiming to give everyone the chance to take part in a fun activity. We’re delighted that the Friends of Cumbernauld Community Park have chosen this event to try and raise some money for our charity.”

After the auditions, the judges will whittle down the successful acts. The finalists will be requested to perform on stage in front of a live audience at the annual Fun in the Park Day on Sunday, June 5, where the overall winner will be announced.

Applications to take part can be made via the Friends of Cumbernauld Park website www.cumbernauldcommunitypark.org.uk, or at the Scottish Spina Bifida Association headquarters at 6 Craighalbert Way, Craigmarloch. But don’t delay - the closing date for applications is Tuesday, March 1 at 5pm and places are limited. Once your application is received the organisers will let you know your allocated time slot for the auditions on Sunday, March 20. Friends and family are welcome to be part of the audience and the admission fee will go towards the Scottish Spina Bifida Association.
