The Replay's prizes include a performance slot at Winterfest in George Square, recording time at Creation Studios in Glasgow and 500 copies of the CD they will record in the studio. Luke Boyce, guitarist and songrwiter for The Replay, said: "It's been an amazing year. It started with winning the Urban Spotlight competiton sponsored by the Scottish Arts Council, then we were gigging in Tenerife, released our debut album Tontine Lane and got a track played on the Vic Galloway show on Radio One.

"We've also had a couple of good support slots including supporting The Law at the Noizy here in Cumbernauld. Three of the band are still only 14 so we're really pleased at the progress we're making.

"We're headlining at the Classic Grand in Glasgow on Saturday, December 4th. People can check us out at www.myspace.com/thereplay1 and Tontine Lane is available to download on iTunes or Amazon."

A spokesperson for contest organisers Glasgow Young Scot said: "City Sounds 2010 is Glasgow's hottest youth music competition and over 300 young people came to the ABC in Sauchiehall St to be entertained by the three young acts The Replay, Tracy Chanda and Ryan MacDowell. The competition, was a great success and it was a very close voting count between the acts.

"The Replay are a great young band and we hope they will benefit even more from the package of support they will go on to receive as this year's winners. We wish them every success for the future".
