Become a poet in print

THE editors of the National Poetry Anthology are on the lookout for submissions for the 2011 iteration of their annual collection.

Luke Redgrave of publishers United Press told the News: "We send out 250,000 entry forms to all UK libraries but you can also enter online at www.unitedpress.co.uk, or ring for details on 0844 800 9177. We pick a winner from each town or region of the UK."

Each regional winner will be sent a free copy of the book and get to vote for their favourite poem in it.

The overall winner will receive 1,000 and a magnificent trophy in a presentation at their local library.

The deadline for entries is Wednesday, June 30.
