Big fat Thin Lizzy tribute at Twa Corbies

ON Friday the Twa Corbies presents Black Rose, a Thin Lizzy tribute act.

Black Rose have performed since 1994, with gigs all over the country. The present line up is Eddie Steedman on bass guitar and lead vocals, David May and Jimmy Miller on lead and rhythm guitars, drummer Colin Robertson and Stuart Coleman on keyboards and saxophone.

Black Rose have twice played the prestigious Vibeforphilo events which were attended by the mother of late Thin Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott.

David May has some past connections with both the Twa Corbies and their gig organiser Jock Barnson, having played at the Corbies with his band Cactus Jack several times in the early 1990s. Jock said: “David released a spectacular ten-track solo album titled ‘Lone Wolf’ which was dedicated to the memory of the late great Gary Moore.

“This album showcases the magical playing talent that makes David May stand out from other players.”

Jock added: “This talent fits in very well with Jimmy Miller’s style to form the twin guitar attack that defined the sound of the mighty Thin Lizzy.”

The gig starts 8pm, with entry costing £3.
