Catalyst award for Kirkland Ciccone and Conjuring the Infinite

Local writer Kirkland Ciccone has won a book award.

His novel Conjuring the Infinite won the Catalyst book award which is run by North Lanarkshire Libraries.

Kirkland said: “It was a tough battle, because I was up against Kevin Brooks who won the Carnegie Medal for The Bunker Diaries, but I’m in the middle of my school tour so the pupils voted for me.

“I’ve been in Edinburgh schools doing gigs and that’s going well; I was interviewed for Teen Titles two weeks ago, so my profile is going up, at long last. “

Kirkland’s second novel, Endless Empress, is expected to launch in October or November this year.
