Alongside this will be new town centre green space, including play provision for all ages.

On Tuesday (October 21) a special information session will be held at the Muirfield Centre between 6pm and 7.30pm to let people see the latest designs and programme.

North Lanarkshire Council’s regeneration convener Councillor David Fagan said: “We have negotiated the purchase of land from Police Scotland to allow a new access road to be created, linking this important development to the town centre.

“We have been closely involved with third sector and local groups to develop the site as a joint community asset and business space.”
