The show takes place on the spookiest night of the year - Halloween - when local girl Zara is walking home through the streets of Cumbernauld after her 16th birthday.

Everything goes a little crazy after a rip in the space/time continuum brings a medley of wacky characters into Zara's life, including a space-age plumber who needs to patch up the universe while saving Zara from the clutches of evil Professor Stagnant.

Written by Cumbernauld artist and playwright Brian Miller, Stitch 'n' Time runs until Saturday, June 26 and involves more than 100 local people both on and off stage.

A Cumbernauld Theatre spokesperson said: "Participants have learned new skills and had a fantastic time, which are the important elements of bringing a community together."

Tickets for the show, which begins at 8pm, are available from the box office. Call (01236) 732887 or visit www.cumbernauldtheatre.co.uk to reserve your seat.
