Concert will help victims of Chernobyl

CARBRAIN Baptist Church had to cancel a planned concert due to the poor weather conditions in December.

However, this has been re-scheduled to take place in the church on Friday (March 25), at 7pm. Admission is free but an offering will be taken for the work of SAM Chernobyl Relief.

April 26 marks the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. Rev. Colin Mackenzie and his wife Cindy have been working with others to help the people of Belarus since 1995.

Donations will help to complete several unfinished projects such as putting in showers and toilets for the Blind School in Grodno.

Over the years, the charity has brought children over for holidays and taken teams of workers and humanitarian aid to help improve conditions.

The charity will close at the end of the year so this will be one of the final fundraising efforts and Carbrain Baptist are pleased to be able to contribute to the cause by hosting the concert. Artists appearing are the ladies’ singing group Crystal Clear, singers John Kirk and Colin Mackenzie, and a group of Junior Praise singers.
