The girls are delighted they have made the semi finals and are now focused on training hard on choreography and singing, which they hope will impress the star judges and the viewers at home."

BLOK, the official Rangers cheerleading squad, are professional dancers who have teamed up with a group of singers led by Nikitta Angus, who was a 2006 finalist in X-Factor.

The dancers have been on TV before, in the BBC3 show Move Like Michael, where they were the only female performers to reach the final eight.

This was the first televised talent contest they took part in.

The singers, meanwhile, have worked together for years and have supported the likes of Roll Deep and Miss Dynamite.

Nikitta also performed in the X Factor tour 2007 throughout the UK and played Cinderella in the Pavilion Theatre's pantomime.

Kay said: "We're doing this to get a new challenge and help get a bit of publicity for all the girls' hard work.

"The singers bring a new dimension to the troupe and these shows help us achieve new things creatively, for instance Move Like Michael gave us the chance to work with Michael Jackson's choreographer, which was amazing."
