Dancers showcaseskills in Glasgow

A Cumbernauld dance school is once again performing in a large dance showcase at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow.

Seventeen dancers from Dance Vibes - 16 girls and one boy, aged four to 18 - will perform a street dance piece entitled Conglomerate at Go Dance 2011.

Instructor Laura Gilroy said: “This is the second year we have taken part. This year we will be performing on Saturday, January 29. All the dancers regularly take part in street dance competitions across the UK but thrive on performances where they can showcase all their talents and demonstrate their hard work. The piece brings together different dance styles of hip hop including house, whacking and breaking.

“We thought this would be a great challenge but it has been a pleasure to work with all of the dancers as they have all helped each other out during the rehearsals and the older dancers have assisted the younger dancers when they have been struggling with the choreography.

Go Dance runs at Theatre Royal until Saturday, January 29. Tickets £6 and £11 and can be booked on 0870 060 6647 or via www.ambassadorstickets.com/glasgow.
