Find out what the Romans did for us

THIS Saturday, the Romans will make a triumphant return to the area to teach Kilsythians of all ages about their fascinating way of life.

The Antontine Wall Celebration Family Fun Day will be held at Croy Miners' Welfare Centre between 10.30am and 5pm.

At the event, there will be the chance to dress up as a Roman, try your hand at some ancient games, or handle some of the amazing artifacts that have been found in the area.

Meanwhile on the same day in Twechar, there will be an exciting programme of games and live music in the Healthy Living and Enterprise Centre from 2.30pm to 4pm.

What's more, you will have the chance to march along a section of the Antonine Wall as part of a Roman Legion.

The 'Antonine Guard' will lead the way from Croy Miners' Welfare, at around midday, all the way to Twechar.

There will be plenty of stops along the way, so you can hear all about the Wall and how the Romans lived and worked here.
