Get involved in victory walk

The Scottish Spina Bifida Association and North Lanarkshire Council are inviting people to take part in a one mile charity walk on Sunday, September 21.

The Victory Mile Walk is organised as part of the Cumbernauld 10k event at Broadwood Stadium, which also includes 1k and 3k races for children.

All participants receive a medal and t-shirt, and donations from the walk will support the vital work carried out by the Scottish Spina Bifida Association.

The charity, based in Cumbernauld, is the only specialist charity in Scotland providing these services.

SSBA assistant fundraising director Clare Cogan Turner hopes people taking part will consider taking on the walk as a sponsored challenge.

She said: “They money raised through last year’s event helped us to fund a crucial project giving personalised play and learning support to 0-5 year olds here in North Lanarkshire.”
