When a kingpin threatens New York only heroes in a half-shell stand in his way in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, released on Friday at the Showcase in Bargeddie.

Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder (Tohoru Masamune) and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians.

The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and her cameraman Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

The latest big screen outing for Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo is produced by Michael Bay who previously breathed life into another retro franchise The Transformers.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is rated 12A and runs 101 minutes.
